‘Changing the Game’ aims to validate ag technology at a commercial farm scale to inform decision making and assist to manage the risks associated with seasonal variations and drought preparedness in the grains industry.
The research project is an investment of the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), led by the University of Southern Queensland with support from the SQNNSW Drought Hub, which has received funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
On-farm field work activities are being undertaken at Tosari Crop Research Centre on the Darling Downs in Queensland. Activities include the installation of a range of ag technologies on site working within the existing farming operations to add value to planning and decision making.
Farmers and other stakeholders within the agricultural sector will benefit from independently validated technologies and approaches to best farming practices to assist in decision making for varied climates and drought resilience.
